Pillar 1: Technologies for sustainable growth

Session 1.1 – Green growth and circular economy

30 October 2018 (day 1) – 13:30-15:30, room Lehar 2/3/4

Green growth and the circular economy are reinventing our businesses, making it more sustainable and competitive. Innovation in materials and industrial processes can clearly help to achieve the objectives of the Circular economy Strategy. Representatives from different industries will show ambitious examples and measures to reduce the use of resources and to boost green growth. There will be a focus on how different industrial sectors can work together to enable both Industrial Symbiosis and the first-ever Europe-wide strategy on plastics, adopted this year 2018 and a key element of the transition towards a more circular economy. Presentations will extend towards examples of potential new markets offered by the circular economy and leading to green growth.
